Chaos In Egypt and why I left.

I continue to follow events in Egypt and whilst I am saddened by them I am far from surprised. I got out of the country in March as I had endured 7 months apart from my wife and had not seen my little boy for two months and I knew that the situation was only going to get worse. My office was close to the presidential palace and I had restaurants in central Cairo so whilst I would have been sensible enough to stay away from protests I did not feel that there was a long term future for me and my family in the country.
It was a tough decision and whilst I never have regrets in life (at least I try not to!) the last 5 months have been far from easy. The UK job market is not in a good place and I have seen senior (and very capable people) settle for smaller roles and I have been keen not to have this happen to me, hence my job search focusing on outside of the UK. The other reason for wanting to work outside of the UK is my desire to spend a few years testing my abilities in a new environment and seeing what I could achieve in this environment.
