Searching for a new role whilst not actually being in a job is a new experience for me and not one that I have particularly enjoyed. The job market in the UK is not great, especially not at my level with too few jobs and too many people chasing them. The job market abroad is no less hard, whilst there are more jobs you have to be very careful as you could easily end up working for the wrong company.
One thing that I have noted about the whole job seeking process is the amount of waiting about which is involved. Waiting for jobs to come up, waiting for feedback on your c.v., waiting for feedback after interviews…..lots of waiting! Anyone who knows me will tell you that I prefer action to inaction so this time has been quite frustrating.
On a separate note, I have recently discovered the delights of EBay. We have started to clear out our garage as our house and garage is ever so slightly crowded……last year we rented out our London flat so now we have enough stuff to full two homes crammed into one.
Finally, as a recent father I am never ceased to be amazed at how much “stuff” a small baby needs to move around with. All I can say is that I am pleased I drive an estate car as otherwise I would be in trouble!
