It’s 6:30 am and I’m sat writing this watching Alex eating a rusk, I’m told that this is part of the joys of fatherhood…….
Part of my reason for not rushing back to work (lack of roles in the UK is the other part) has been that I wanted to take the opportunity to spend some time with him and it’s been fascinating to watch him develop from a very young age (I missed the first few months of his life) to the stage which he is at now at just over nine months old. At the moment he just wants to walk so will climb anything he can in an attempt to get upright, once upright you can see that he’s trying to figure out what to do next which is where he struggles (as would any baby!) but he is still trying! He also wants to feed himself, a process which involves him smearing food all over his face and everywhere else, I don’t doubt that he manages to eat some of it, just not very much.
Actually, as I watch him now, we are heading into the phase where I have to attempt to wipe mashed rusk off him which is hardly the most fun thing to do as he doesn’t seem to like having his faced wiped.
Fortunately mummy has arrived so I can leg it in the direction of my treadmill!
On a separate note details are slowly coming through of what the next few months are looking like and all being well I start my new role on the 1st October with brand training taking place both in the UK and South Africa before heading over to Dubai then Saudi. None of this has been confirmed yet but it looks like all will be in place by the end of this week.
