I actually put together a quick post yesterday which for some reason only uploaded today.
A few years ago I managed to lose 7 stone and managed to keep the weight off for a couple of years. Sadly and to my great regret over the last 8 months or so the weight has started to creep back on. From the start if last month I decided to get back in shape and managed to lose 15 pounds in August. My weight loss strategy has been reasonably straight forward and I have tried to lose weight in sustainable manner.
There are a couple of things which I do that I find really help.
1. I have stepped up my exercise. I do this by having my own treadmill and when I am away from home attending a gym. I walk quickly up a gradient and do around an hour a day. This morning I managed to burn 1200 calories. I find that this helps me build muscle mass, get fitter and gives me a lot more energy.
2. Calorie counting. I set myself a daily limited and track how much I eat on a daily basis.
3. Keep eating. This might seem strange but you cannot starve yourself thin. I eat three meals a day but I strive to make them healthy and low fat. By doing this I am able to eat decent sized portions. For example yesterday’s dinner was two turkey breasts cooked on a griddle pan with herbs, mushrooms and onions. It was a filling, tasty meal for less than 500 calories.
Far be it for me to tell people what to do, but these are the strategies which work for me.
