Lots going on today as I start to get myself organised. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about internal communications and how to ensure that the correct message is going out at all times. This is especially important if you are involved in any sort of change management where ensuring engagement through a compelling call to action is going to be key, so making sure that all messages are congruent with this call to action is vital. To be honest I would probably ensure this happens by having all messages to the wider business filtered through one person. Whilst at first glance they may seem like overkill I would disagree, once something goes out there it cannot be recalled.
This all brings to mind the early days of Tony Blair’s leadership when his team were supplied with pagers to keep them “on message” which at the time was a good idea….at least in my opinion!
I have also given some thought to strategic planning and what would be the best way of presenting a plan, not only if you were going for board sign off but in terms of getting the message out to the wider business……I will let you know how I get on!
