Having put together (with a lot of help from my team) a 60 page document which outlines our strategy for the coming three years I am feeling rather upbeat. I have just completed a first review of both the slide deck and the notes so now it’s time for a break before having a second review and putting the finishing touches to a couple of sections.
I plan to be in the London office early tomorrow to print everything out so that I can carry out a third review with the guy who is going to be pulling it all together. Hopefully, by the end of tomorrow morning we will have finalised a layout and have a good understanding of what supporting schedules are required prior to spending a couple of days getting the format looking tidy and professional.
So far this year Christmas has largely passed me by as I’ve been so wrapped in my work, I tend to get quite absorbed in what I’m doing and at the moment I have been enjoying every minute of my new role. I will be taking a little time off over Christmas to enjoy my first Christmas with my family.
I did find time to fit in a store visit yesterday and was able to spend some time talking about some of my ideas with the store manager and listening to her feedback which was all very positive.
Apart from doing a couple more hours work and cooking lunch I have no set plan for today, we may venture out depending on how we feel and then it’s an early night ready for an early start tomorrow. I count myself very fortunate to be in a situation where I cannot wait to get up at 3am and drive down to London to get into the office for 7am!
