So it’s the first of January and traditionally a time when people make all sorts of resolutions which they may or may not keep! I try and avoid New Year resolutions, choosing instead to think about the year ahead and consider how I might be a better version of myself. The list is quite long, after all nobody is perfect (not even me…..) so my strategy is to not compile a long list of things to change but rather commit to a couple of things which should give me the best chance of actually achieving them. So for this year I will be setting myself a couple of challenges starting with my personal life. The last couple of years have been awful and throughout this time my wife has been there for me and I suppose at times I have been so wrapped up in my own problems that I have rather taken her for granted, so my fist commitment is to ensure that I always show her the consideration which she deserves.
Work wise my challenge is also pretty simple, we have a huge amount of work ahead of us and success will depend on how well I can mobilise support for what we are trying to achieve and to do this I need to be at my most inspiring. So my challenge to myself is that after every site visit I will leave every manager and associate feeling good about themselves, regardless of how well the visit goes.
I will keep you posted on how well I’m doing!
