I have an early meeting with my head of ops this morning and I’m sat here writing this whilst enjoying a coffee and a muffin in costa. This brand has been a huge success story, not just in the UK but in other markets. I fondly remember putting the world to rights over a coffee with a good friend in our local Costa in Rehab when I lived in Cairo. In Egypt Costa is a full service outlet with a much more comprehensive food menu. The outlet was always busy and always served great coffee.
I like the new interior decor that Costa is rolling out, it’s softer and more organic and it is down this road I would like to take the BHS outlets! possibly starting with Brighton which will soon be receiving a face lift. The idea is that this will be the model for our restaurants going forward and it will retain the free flow service style but the counter will be smaller and feel far more contemporary with a whole new and more natural bakery display. We also plan to make a change to the style of service which will be much more engaging and interactive.
I have a busy day today, along with my board presentation I have meetings to review design, recruitment and loss prevention.
