I had an interesting meeting with some colleagues who look after our website and social media. Our challenge is that our average customer is not the most active social media user so our main online activity will focused on our website and on the people who form our mailing list. We plan to change the content to make it more engaging and also to tell our customers more about what we are doing, so the launch of our new range will feature prominently in the next couple of weeks. We are also going to look into upgrading the photography on the site to make it look more appealing.

I have had a couple of positive meetings with people who can potentially help me take the business forward and I am hoping for some developments on that front within the next week or so. People wise, my main focus has been on bringing someone in who can support the improvement of our hot drinks category, both through improving the product and the skills of our people.

My challenge remains working with our people and taking them on a journey, the food innovation group meeting which we held last week was an important first step but the journey is going to be a long one!
