People stuff

I am out and about today visiting sites in the midlands and will be shortly driving down to Milton Keynes. At the same time there will be some important interviews taking place back at the office. They are for the final two positions that I need to fill within my team, one if for a head barista role and the other is for a training role. Both would play a vital part in the up skilling of our teams which in itself is a big part of what my strategy is all about as I am a great believer that you cannot achieve sustainable growth in a business without investment in growing the people. This of course is a longer term aim but I am confident that we will be showing results at some point this year.

We are only a couple of weeks away from implementing a key part of our strategy, this is where we take on the day to day running of the food business in partnership with the retail team and I am really excited about the opportunities that this project will help us realise. We are also close to rolling out a brand manual which will be backed up with a brand standards review. We cannot hope to create great brands without a formal (and neutral) process of review and corrective coaching and I feel that this will be a huge benefit to the business.

So, lots going on with little time to spare!
