Product Trials

One of the first things which I did when I joined the business was set up some trial shops, one in each region as along with testing new products this outlets will train people on how to execute new products.
I am a great believer in trialling new products before bringing them to market as this avoids some potentially expensive mistakes. It also gives the people in stores the opportunity to feed back on any operational issues, if a trial goes well the people in the test shops can act as advocates for new products. I appreciate that this process will increase the amount of time it takes to bring a product to market but I would rather get it right first time.

If you have recently visited our restaurants and cafes you may well have noticed a lack of deals, this is entirely deliberate as seek to attract people by great product and good service rather then through price. At first glance this may seem a risky strategy but we need to change peoples perception of BHS hospitality.
