It’s Monday and it’s incredibly early

It’s just turned 3am and I’m busy getting myself ready for the drive down to London. Sadly it’s been a wretched weekend as I’ve been quite unwell and unable to obtain an out of hours doctors appointment. I’m old enough to remember when doctors came to see you at home. In Egypt, (which don’t forget is a third world country) you can pay for a doctor to come out to your house for a consultation, which is a service which we should be able to have here as I am sure that there would be plenty of people who would be prepared to pay for this.

Anyway, enough about my woes! We have a number of new products which go live today. One is an old favourite which is a half chicken dish whilst we are also launching our impulse range into restaurants as well as a range of small, wrapped slices of cake.
Today also sees the start of two very important trials, the first being selling a range of freshly made sandwiches which have been specifically developed for BHS. They use quality ingredients and taste wonderful, they will be on sales throughout our North West and West Midlands regions. The second trial is all around a much improved hot drink offer which will be available in selected stores in the Midlands. We have a new blend of coffee, improved tea bags, different size coffee cups and tea pots. The biggest change will be the use of manual coffee machines in some of our cafes, the teams have undergone the training required to deliver this and are all very excited.
This is an important day as it marks the start of a process whereby we will have upgraded every category by the end of September.
