In my own small way I enjoy an presence on social media and because of the job I do I receive a fair few emails from suppliers keen to tell me about their products. I quite enjoy receiving these emails as I am always keen to try new products. Having said that due to the sheer volume of emails and the many demands on my time I recently came up with a new policy.
To put it simply I politely invite people to do a bit of research before pitching their product, if you are going to try and persuade me to range your product then you need to be able to articulate why you think it will sell. I am a great believer in meeting people half way so my promise to anyone that takes the trouble to make a well thought through and compelling case for their product is that they will be given the opportunity to place their products in one of our test stores and then our customers will get to decide if we range the product.
So please, by a all means get in touch and tell me about your product, especially if you are a small supplier who is offering something new or at least something which is traditional but with a twist that sets it apart from
