Change agents

The last few weeks have been more hectic than usual with an awful lot going on. We are on the cusp of some quite radical changes to both our food and the way we operate the business and my teams challenge is how we support our colleagues through this period of change.
Moving away from the topic of BHS for a moment and speaking generally, it’s been my experience in previous roles that whilst many people could see the need for change and understood the way in which things were changing their ability to embrace that change was hampered by the fact that they had being doing things in the same way for a long time and had become comfortable. In this situation you need to ensure that you have people within the business who are going to act as “change agents” . These people ideally would be people who are respected within the business and who can champion your cause thus playing a vital part in ensuring that not only is your message heard in the wider business but also that people buy into what you are trying to do.
As someone once told me “you need to influence the influencers”

Returning to the world of BHS, I am heading up to Milton Keynes for my fortnightly food meeting.
