Doing this job I am often reminded of the Starbucks mantra where they talk about doing things one cup at a time! Progress made in this role so far can best be described as steady but then I never deluded myself it would be any different. Winning hearts and minds is never an easy or speedy process and I am proud of the fact that we are starting to do this and really pleased by the level of support which I have received.
Most of our work now is geared to getting all of our new food in place by the start of the new financial years which has been a monumental task so far and we are far from finished. The new food has generally been well received by both customers and staff which is pleasing and which will hopefully lead to more sales.
On a totally unrelated topic I was saddened to hear of the death of Rik Mayall, like most people of my generation I grew up watching the young ones and then later the New Statesmen. He was a great talent who died far too young and who will be hugely missed.
