Meetings

Had a really successful and enjoyable day in Newport yesterday. Most of the day was spent in a group discussion on P&L management and more importantly on how to drive sales.
On the sales front we are now seeing some reasonably strong numbers coming through although we still have plenty of work to do.
Today I’m heading over to Manchester to meet with regional managers to discuss and agree a way of working with them. My aim today is to have everyone leaving the room feeling inspired and motivated so I will need to be in too form! Days like today are hugely important as great results can only be achieved though great people and for me, the only way that you can have truly great people working for you is if as a leader you have a clear vision and you are able to inspire people into both believing and owning that vision.
On a separate note I see that Mr Gove has been reshuffled. I have no doubt that he is a very clever man and has achieved things but I just wonder how much more might have been achieved had his style been less confrontational.
