Debating on social media. Is this actually possible

I obtain a lot of new from various blogs and I also make a point of following people who’s point of view differs to mine. Lately I seem to find that people are keener on name calling rather rather than discussing the issues, this is as sad as it is counter productive.
It’s easy to be rude on social media as you don’t have to face people when you hurl abuse at them.
