Meetings and travel

I spend a significant amount of time on the road, today is a case in point as I am in a budget meeting first thing this morning before going into a marketing meeting. Once that is done I’m in the car driving up to Milton Keynes as it’s been a while since I visited the store and I also want to catch up with a couple of suppliers, once finishing there I am heading North to stay overnight before embarking on some site visits tomorrow. Sadly it’s just not possible to use the train for a lot of these trips as it would just take too long so you do loose a lot of time in the car, no matter how carefully you plan your visits.
Whilst it might sound that I am forever in meetings I do actually try to keep them to a minimum and ensure that whatever meetings are held have a clear outcome. I have been in businesses where the CEO enjoyed meetings and we would be in day long meetings that never actually achieved anything!
