Not having to get up at 3am means that I have already made a good start to the week. After 3 days in the road I’m back in the office today and will have the usual meetings with the addition of a one to one with my line manager.
A lot of my work over the next few weeks will now be focused on next year. We have to main projects which we are currently working on, firstly we are looking at weekly rotas and ensuring that our people are flexible enough and that we have the right people in the right place at the right time. Alongside this we are looking at daily and weekly tasks and helping to ensure that our people being as efficient as possible.
The second project is the revamping of our main meals and working on improving our hot display.
It would have been useful to have had both projects concluded prior to this Christmas but we took the view that in order to land them effectively we needed area managers in place and by the time we had a full team the Christmas rush was almost upon us.
