1 step forward 2 steps back

In business, as in life there are good days and bad days. You learn to roll with the punches and develop a thick skin (one that is permeable enough to accept constructive feedback but that does not accept pointless criticism) which is what you need to do if you are going to have any longevity in a senior role.
That was my philosophical thought for the day!
After what I can best describe as a rather difficult day yesterday, a chunk of it spent talking to a number of our customers (speaking to them was the high point of the day) I am back in the office working hard to put everything in place for our January promotional campaign which is not all that far away. We have pretty much finalised our line up of new not dishes and without giving too much away we have a wonderful group of quality traditional dishes which will hopefully appeal to our core customer whilst at the same time attracting new customers. Our challenge remains that we need to let people know that we are doing something different, in some stores our challenge is that people don’t even know we have a restaurant so addressing this is a bit of a priority.
The rest of the day will be spent finalising taking on the staff facilities throughout the Arcadia group. We launched our new coffee yesterday in the office and it went down very well!
