Since my announcement in Monday I have attracted a modest amount of social media attention which I guess was my 15 minutes of fame. My blog smashed its record for number of views and at least 5 recruiters suddenly wanted to “link in” with me, even my klout score ( a measure of my influence on social media) will probably rise from its current, rather unremarkable level, in fact I should leave jobs more often!
Obviously that’s not going to happen, in fact I am rather looking forward to me new role and the challenges that it will bring. To be honest though, I’m still not giving it too much thought as I have some important work to do in my current role which requires my undivided attention.
Today will be spent doing more handover work with my successor, I’ve worked with the guy for close to six years and have complete faith that he will lead the business to the next level and I have to say that it feels great to be leaving a business knowing that you have a more than capable successor whom you brought into the business. This also means that I will continue to take a keen interest in how things are working out with BHS.
