What happens next (part 1)

I have two days out and about visiting units before heading back to the office for a final clear out on Friday. My wife and son join me on Friday afternoon as we head off to Heathrow to spend a couple of days together before I fly out to Kuwait to begin my adventures in the Middle East.
I really enjoyed my time in Egypt, learning a huge amount and meeting some wonderful people (some of who I have remained in touch with) so I always planned to return to that part of the world. I chose Kuwait because of a number of glowing reports about the lifestyle out there from friends, I love the idea of waking up every morning to clear blue skies and sunshine and the idea of heading out to the beach at weekends is appealing. Kuwait also gives us a base from which to explore the Middle East.
This is not going to be easy but having been an expat before I have learned a number of valuable lessons so hopefully I won’t be making the mistakes that I made when going out to Egypt.
Yesterday I had a farewell lunch with my boss which served to remind me (not that I need much reminding) what a great guy to work for he has been. I am a great believer that you work for people not companies and I have been fortunate to work for a boss who has been as engaged in what I have tried to do and supportive of it.
