Up bright and early ready for my cab ride into work, it takes about 20 minutes to get to the office from my hotel which is great given it took an hour to get to work back in the UK.
Weather wise it’s quite chilly at night and early morning which is a it par for the course in this part of the world, however getting up and seeing blue skies and sunshine every morning is a real moral booster and part of the reason for my coming across to work here.
Today is going to be hectic as I have a visit to the local authorities for fingerprinting plus another medical where they will be checking that I’m not carrying anything infectious , after that it will take a few weeks for me to obtain my residency card which over here is a complete must have (you cannot even buy a mobile phone without this) and in fact you need to carry it around with you. I also have an appointment with the bank to set up my local bank account without which I don’t get paid!
In between all of this I’m going to be doing some work! I’m just reviewing my induction and making sure that the next few weeks are organised then this afternoon I’m heading over to a trade show to meet some of our suppliers before going over to our Spanish restaurant to attend a PR event organised by our marketing team.
After all of the above I’m going to try and get into the hotel gym!
