Monday’s are always hectic as I have a series of meetings and one to ones which span the day. It’s going to be a difficult week as yesterday the weather was pretty bad, by Kuwaiti standards anyway. It was windy and much cooler than it has been lately which won’t have helped our sales.
At the moment I am working in our manpower as increasing efficiency and managing our labour cost is one of my goals, this isn’t simply removing people from the business, it’s about finding ways to me more efficient. Working in the Middle East makes that an interesting challenge as you can’t hire part time staff as no local would work in our industry. All our workers are non Kuwaitis who we house and transport to work so we simply do not have the flexibility that businesses in the UK have. We will of course figure it out but it will take a little time.
