It’s finally been sold, this has come as no real surprise as it’s been on the cards for a while, there were rumours around when I first joined BHS 18 months ago.
There are some talented people working at BHS and I am certain that they have what it takes to turn things around. The product is much improved and their food stores are driving additional footfall. Having said that, they will have a tough task, the business badly needs investment as some of the stores look like they could have been used as locations for the TV series “Life On Mars” and they need to shed their image as a discounter as fewer people are prepared to pay full price with the inevitable hit on margin.
I have only fond memories of my time there and genuinely hope that this once great high street name will be around for some time to come.
