What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger

If I had wanted a quiet life I would never have left Pret A Manger, I had a hugely successful 9 years with Pret, going from assistant manager to regional director in 7 years which by some standards isn’t particularly quick progression but it’s something that I am proud of. I would have made it to UK ops director and probably still be with them in some capacity or other and there are times that I think that wouldn’t be a such a bad thing. Then I look at all the wonderful opportunities in terms of roles and experiences that I have had over the past 9 years and realise how much I would have missed out on. It’s not been an easy 9 years as I have sought to test myself in a variety of roles and situations, it’s certainly not been comfortable and I have never been able to sit back and relax, but then I have learned so much and become a much better version of myself.
If nothing else, it’s certainly not been a dull 9 years!
