ive posted a couple of times on this subject, talking about people from my past that have made a difference in my career.
This time round I want to talk about a guy who was COO at SSP and was an ex Wal Mart guy. He was mentally sharp, had a great eye for detail but his laconic, laid back style meant that he was able to put people at ease. He was appropriately challenging and had a way of getting the best out of you.
He is pretty much retired know and I do swap the occasional email with him, one of my biggest regrets when leaving SSP was that I would not be working with him any longer
