Picking up where I left off yesterday I have been giving some thought to what employer of choice actually means in practice.
For me it’s party about offering people the chance of a career rather than just a job. Now obviously not everyone wants a career, it may well suit a person to do a certain job fur a certain number of hours every week and obviously that’s fine. However businesses need to think very carefully about how they manage the careers of their people, this involves a combination of the right training and robust succession planning. Get these two elements right and you have the foundation for an engaged and more efficient workforce.
