Yesterday was a good day, I had my first shop tour with our operations manager and it was great to see how well she is settling into her role. Our head of food and I met with our new coffee supplier and agreed a role out plan for our improved coffee offer which is really exciting as we have a lot of work to do to boost breakfast sales. I also had a an interview with a strong management candidate and then we finished the day with a pretty positive succession meeting where all of our group managers made a really strong contribution.
It feels like the business has come a long way over the last few weeks with every member of the team really raising their game and making a positive contribution, still lots of work to do but we now have a direction of travel and a list of priorities.
First meeting today is our monthly board get together and I plan to update everyone on progress made on our plan whilst our FD gives us an update on the numbers.
