I visited some stores yesterday and spent a very enjoyable morning meeting some of our teams, part of the afternoon was spent taking part in our second “listening group” which involves me talking to and listening to people from across our business as they tell what’s going well and what’s going not so well. This is a great opportunity to assess the potential impact that new initiatives will have on team members and managers. I really enjoy these sessions as I get to explain the “how” and “why” of what we are doing.
I came away with some valuable feedback and a list of things that we need to do better which I’ve already got to work on!
I also spent some time yesterday taking another look at our Christmas sales from last year, trying to understand why we were so quiet. I have finally got to the bottom of this particular mystery and am now focusing on what we need to do better so watch this space.
