Its been an exciting week at Vital HQ, we are in the final phase of a project which is set to have a real impact on the brand over the coming years, that said the excitement is tempered with the knowledge that we are not over the line as yet and that there will be a number of twists and turns between know and the long stop date which we have set ourselves. Along with the added excitement comes a lot of hard work as the team juggles the demands of the day job with the demands of the process which we are currently in. Fortunately I have been able to draft in some operational support which is going to help us move things on significantly.
Things are hotting up on the property front as months of hard work by various members of the team (and our agents) are starting to bear some fruit. We have two new stores in legals, one which is possibly close to legals and another half dozen where our offer is being considered. Again, I’m not getting to excited as the property market is crazy at the moment.
My final thought is a reflection back my talk on Tuesday. I happened to bump into two old colleagues from my Pret days, the first was a man who laid the foundations for Pret’s modern day success and the second was my last boss at Pret who I have a huge amount of respect for. It was good to catch up with them both!
