2017

As the end of the year approaches I have started to look ahead to 2017. One things that has struck me about our sector is just how crowded it is. Healthy eating is becoming much more prominent on the high street and whilst that’s a good thing for the nations health it makes for a very competitive sector.

I’m reasonably sure that at some point in 2017 there will be some consolidation in the sector with rising rent, rates, food and layout costs exerting pressure on everyone’s P&L. As for us at Vital, we have one new store going through th legal process and are close to securing a second site so we still plan to grow next year and at this stage we are not ruling out an acquisition. As always, watch this space.
