It’s been a good day. I spent some time talking to some of our managers and team members in Edinburgh and whilst we still have loads to do it feels like we are making real progress, not just as a commercial entity but in our relationship with our people. It feels like we are now rewarding their hard work and loyalty and are on route to creating the kind of business that our teams can be proud of working for.
I’m sat on a train heading home and I can’t wait to see my family and to sleep in my own bed!
I’m working from home tomorrow and on Tuesday will be visiting my final two shops. In the last two weeks I’ve visited 30 shops across the UK and it’s been quite an education. It’s been great to see the progress made and I think it’s important that the teams see the MD working during busy weekends in December.
