I was in London for the start of the week and came home late last night via Birmingham. This week is all about putting together a business plan along with some recommendations to the new owners. My role is still very much a temporary one and what happens over the coming weeks will be very much down to what the new owners decide what they want to do with the business. The key question I have to answer is “what does this business need to do to have a sustainable future”
The business itself has been struggling for some time and it’s troubles are well documented. To be frank, I don’t have an opinion on the past, I certainly want to learn from it but I have no desire to judge the decisions taken with the benefit of hindsight. For a start, I just don’t have the time for it and then I have joined businesses in the past where the new owners come in and slag off the former owners and this does not sit comfortably with me.
