I’m really pleased at the progress the team has made in recent weeks. Everyone has just got on with the day job and worked hard to deliver the sustainable change which this business requires.
We have made some changes to our supply chain which will not only simplify things but which will also deliver a saving on our cost of goods. As part of this, our Irish business is moving towards sourcing 100% of its products locally as opposed to having them shipped from the UK. This not only makes things simpler but also reduces the carbon footprint or our food products.
We have started to make changes to our UK food range with our first task being to improve the quality of our pastries as we have almost completed the switch to freshly baked pastries delivered into our London stores from a small artisan baker. Initial feedback on these products has been great.
Today is my final day ahead of my trip to Ireland so I’m busy with a combination of meetings and presentations for the trip
