Requiesce in pace

An old work colleague from my SSP days passed away yesterday. To be fair, he was more than a work colleague he was a friend.

He was popular with the people he worked with and the old cliche “you couldn’t find anyone with a bad word to say about him” really did apply to him. He was a kind, patient man who had time for everyone.

He was a very typical “north London Italian” and he managed to combine Italian charm with the wit of a Londoner.

To my regret, we lost touch a while ago (my fault not his) but I was grateful to be able to speak to him a while back.

Nothing is going to stop me going to his funeral to pay my respects to a good man.
