I’m enjoying a well earned break with my family this weekend after what has been quite an intense week which ended with my arriving home just before midnight on Friday. I have spent part of my weekend reflecting on all things AMT and even if I say so myself, I am quite proud of what has been achieved so far. I don’t often allowed myself time for self congratulation, partly because I tend to focus on what I should have done better and partly because any success that may have been achieved will owe as much to the team as it does to me. In this case, I have had the very great pleasure to work with an extremely talented ops director who has been instrumental in the turn around which has been achieved. I plan to write a proper account of this project in the future as I think that it will be an interesting case study. I have also decided that now is a good time to start my second book, this will be based on my time at Patisserie Valerie and will be as detailed as my book on my time at BHS.
Sales have been really good this week, helped by both the cancellations of the planned rail strikes and the various events which have taken place. We have taken the decision to open as normal tomorrow, we serve rail travellers and hospital staff and visitors and given how busy the rail network will be we have decided to continue to serve the travelling public as well as to continue to provide a service to the healthcare sector.
