After 15 months at AMT I will be stepping down from my full time role and staying with the business as an advisor to support the incoming MD.
I have had an enjoyable time with the business and feel that in my 6th turn around project my team and I have made a difference as the business is in a very different place to where it was. We have secured new leases for existing units, won tenders for new units, built up strong relationships with our landlords and suppliers, refreshed the brand and revised our food offer, commenced a partnership with Change Please and achieved like for like sale which are ahead of many of our competitors.
Matt Cundrick has been a huge support every step of the way on this journey and I am really pleased to be passing the baton to him as he steps up into the MD role. He is hugely talented and I look forward to continuing to work with him.
This was always planned as it was never my intention to remain with the business on a full time basis once the turnaround was largely complete.
I also want to thank the owners of AMT who have been as supportive as I could have hoped
So what next? Well, I will be staring with Karak Chaii as an advisor to the owners as they look to scale the brand. This is going to be a hugely exciting project as they now have 10 stores which will grow to 16 by the end of the year. My role will be to support the evolution of their franchise system and help them create a strategic plan for the coming years.
This role and AMT won’t fill all of my time which is good as I have a couple of other projects in the pipeline which I will talk about in the very near future.
