One of the things that I have found with emerging businesses is that they generally aren’t very good with internal communications (this is based on my observations as opposed to my generalising about all small businesses) and that this holds them back.
With the businesses that I work with I try and ensure that the leadership team is meeting up regularly and talking through issues as well as making decisions when everyone is in the room. Communication from the leadership team to the rest of the support centre is also key, I’m not just referring to the day to day stuff but also medium term plans, new store openings and major decisions should all be communicated effectively.
Finally, getting your messages out to your stores (or franchisees) has never been more important. Since joining Karak Chaii we have set up a WhatsApp group for franchise partners along with regular email communication. In addition to this one of our operations team has regular Teams calls with franchise partners which really helps two way communication
