This blog post from 2012 popped up on my Facebook timeline – it make me chuckle so I decided to share it

I should have stayed in bed! Got a call from the office telling me that the manager from one of our restaurants hadn’t shown up. No one could reach the ops manager and the security guys had no key. I decide to ride to the rescue like a superhero lol. sadly this involved a trip around the Cario ring road (sponsorship by NCP car parks LTD) but it is Friday and its usually quite………. got past Maadi turn off and found total grid lock (found out later that two lorries had decided to race each other) managed to turn off then spend the next two hours in an impromtu (and unwanted) tour of the back streets of Cairo (the hilights were the sheer numbers of cars, people and donkeys on the road0 before rejoining the ring road and heading home. Luckly the ops manager turned up there with a key. Sadly I was about as much use as pork pie at a Jewish wedding……
