The joys of cheap motoring

I’m from Yorkshire, and whilst my name makes me sound a little exotic I remain a Yorkshireman at heart. This Yorkshireness manifests itself in a number of ways such as my being quite reluctant to spend money.

Taking cars as an example I tend to buy very cheap run arounds and then bin them after a few months. My latest set of wheels is an “X” reg Alfa Romeo 166 which cost me all of £250 from eBay, it’s cost me another £200 to get it through it’s MOT and I am left with a comfortable, sporty executive car which will have cost less than £500. I plan to run it for 3 months then sell it again on eBay. By the time I leave for Saudi I will have spent £100 a month (plus petrol and insurance) running this car…… Now that’s a bargain to please any Yorkshireman!
