Nearly Monday

After an uneventful trip back to Cheshire complete with a stop for Sunday lunch (food was fine but I hate characterless pubs which are obviously run by large chains) I am about to sit down and do some more work.

The coming week is pretty important as I present my plan to regional managers and to managers in the two regions where we will be launching our new way of working. We also have our new range go live this week and it will be interesting to see what sales we gather from some of the new items.

My challenge for next week is to put in place a couple of processes which will ensure the smooth running of the department. At the moment we are very much in transition as new people come in to fill some of the gaps whilst the existing team comes to grips with working at a much quicker pace.

On the political front, I have no doubt that Mr Gove is an intelligent man, however I am to sure how he thinks the needs of pupils are best served by alienating the teaching profession. I am a passionate believer that standards need to be raised but I also believe that this should be done in an inclusive way.
