Leaving BHS

After 15 enjoyable months I will be leaving BHS in mid January. Life has had its ups and downs during my time here but I’m really sad to be leaving. I’ve had the pleasure of working with some wonderful people who have been really supportive. I’ve been privileged to have a role which has been challenging and stretching and which has really helped me develop. In terms of achievements, I’m proud of how much the food has improved, I’m proud of what we have created in Oxford Street, I’m proud of the people I brought into the business but most of all I’ve been blown away by how well my colleagues in stores have risen to the challenge and by the efforts that they have been making in moving the business forward.
I’m able to leave a really talented successor in place who will pick up the baton and continue to drive the business.
So why did I leave ? Well, it’s nothing to do with the role or with the company, it’s all about the fact that I have a two year old who I never get to see. My father worked away a lot when I was young and I believe that I really missed out on things because of this and I don’t want my son to be saying the same things when he reaches my age.
So what next……well, you will have to wait a little while longer for that piece of information as I don’t want to talk about other businesses whilst still employed by BHS.
Finally, I just want to say how much I have enjoyed my time with BHS, it’s a great company to work for and I would recommend them to anyone. I shall remain a brand advocate and will continue to follow the fortunes of the business.

You’ll be missed- you did a great job moving us forward and getting the focus back on hospitality! I wish you every success in the future!
