my nine months at Vital have been something of a roller coaster ride as I have sought to get the business into good shape whilst at the same time working towards making Vital a real force on the high street. This journey has been far from linear with lots of highs and lows but I genuinely feel that we are making some progress and that all the work done last year to put the busilding blocks of success in place might just be starting to pay off.
I did my usual Monday afternoon lunchtime tour yesterday and was especially pleased to visit the new manager in our Sun Street branch, it was her first day in the store so I didn’t want to take up too much of her time but it was great to see her in there and I’m pretty certain that she will make a real difference to the store.
As for today, well a large part of the day will be taken up looking at potential new locations, we are starting to gain traction in this area after months of work and I remain hopeful that we can hit the targeted number of new store openings for the year.
