I’m on my way to the North East to pick up a car and I’ve suddenly remembered why I don’t take public transport!

My trip from Crewe to Darlington will take just under four hours and involves a train from Crewe to Manchester Piccadilly, a walk from there to Victoira, a train to York then a change there to catch the train to Darlington! This not a fun journey and given that both Crewe and Darlington are reasonably important stations you would have thought that the journey would be slightly less convoluted. Still, on the positive side I’m getting lots of time for admin and preparation work!
