I came across this photo of the Brighton BHS restaurant as its closing down. It’s quite a sad sight as I remember when we opened the refurbished restaurant back in the days that I worked for BHS. Sadly the store will be closing shortly and my thoughts are with all of the people who have lost their jobs.
What’s obvious to me and to many people at BHS is that this whole sorry saga could have been avoided with the right level of investment. Things would have been different if the business could have been sold to someone with the expereince and resources to back the leadership team, sadly that’s not what happened and a British institution will shortly disappear from our high streets forever.
