I’m enjoying being much more involved in the operations side of the business as my background has been in operations. At the moment I am having a one to one with each manager on a weekly basis which is designed to follow up in the weekly review which they submit on a Friday afternoon. The weekly review looks back at the previous week but also looks forward by building an action plan which I then review with the manager. This all eventually feeds into a period review which is more strategic and focuses on medium term goals.
The other thing that I am working on with our managers is their ability it accurately forecast their business, this should hopefully lead them to run a more efficient business
It’s early days but we are making progress.
