Time runs away with you

It’s easy to get into the habit of rushing around, dipping in and out of things and by doing so you may even manage to convince yourself that you are making a difference. However, if the last three years as MD of Vital Ingredient has taught me anything is that making a difference is all about impact and not effort. To really make a difference you need to hire good people who are able to structure their working lives in such a way that they don’t need close supervision, I’m not here to micro manage people, my role is all about ensuring that the various things that my team are working on all contribute to our three year plan and that their efforts are giving us some sort of return.

The other part of my role is to keep everyone at Vital engaged and feeling like 5hey are part of something bigger. If I can ensure that our customer facing staff care about what they do then this will go a long way to making Vital a success.
