My day started with a two hour session which involved catching up on emails, sending out invoices (the first ones generated by my new business) and sorting through receipts.
I’ve been really busy since I left Vital and I really do put this down to the amount of time I spend networking, most of this takes place via LinkedIn as I spend at least 30 minutes a day either generating my own content or checking out what other people have posted. My blog has also helped and I’m really proud of the fact that I am getting circa 25 thousand views a month.
I pretty much accept all connection requests and do my level best to answer every message. You never know when you might need a service or a person.
I’m not a natural networker, I’m a total introvert and with little talent for small talk so I have to work hard at networking. I try and avoid large events as I recognize that I’m not at my best in these situations, instead I focus on meeting people on a one to one basis.
Ultimately like anything in life, you get out what you put in.
