Keeping your staff engaged during this very difficult time when many of the are furloughed is not easy. I have heard of businesses who have appointed a “point” person to coordinate efforts to reach out to staff and also support them. I’m hugely fortunate to live in a small village in a decent sized house so my lockdown experience has not been to bad, this will obviously contrast with people living in flats or shared homes in large cities.
Reaching out to staff isn’t just about keeping in touch. It’s about answering their questions and addressing their concerns as well as offering support.
No one really knows how things will play out but I am prepared to bet that the business who go the extra mile for their people will be the ones that will potentially emerge better prepared when this is all over.
